Cave Johnson and his secretary Caroline

Founder and CEO Cave Johnson dies of moon rock poisoning, secretary Caroline to take over

June 19th, 1981 - After over three decades of leading the industry towards a better tomorrow, founder Cave Johnson succumbs to organ failure from exposure to poisonous moon rocks. The rocks in question were purchased and studied for the purpose of finding a suitable portal conductor. Results were promising. However, it came at a great cost.

At the request of our former CEO, Aperture Science will not be holding a funeral due to lack of funds and resources. However any donations or grants are greatly accepted. Should you decide to contribute to the Cave Johnson Memorial Fund, please make out any donations and/or grants in cash to the front desk.

Without the face of the company, Aperture Labs was looking to become directionless. Fortunately, Cave’s longtime secretary Caroline is willing to step up to carry on with the company’s future scientific endeavors. The legacy of Cave Johnson and his company will not be forgotten. As of today, we look forward to a new era of Aperture Science.
